SEMINAR DELFT OCTOBER 26th, 2012 – OPEN CALL FOR REGISTRATION

2012-08-17

Foundation id11 from Delft (NL) within the framework of the CreArt project (Network of Cities for Artistic Creation) is organizing a seminar about residencies for artists in October this year. The chosen theme is “Good practice in artist-in-residence”. One of the goals of the seminar is to give a good idea of what an artist-in-residence (AIR) can be. Several presentations therefore focus on the various possibilities that are given for AIRs and we will show a wide range of examples. Experts will share their experience: a representative from Trans Artists, the international knowledge centre on AIRs based in Amsterdam (NL), as well as representatives of the AIR Badgast from The Hague (NL) and of the AIR network RAiR from Rotterdam (NL).

Another goal of the seminar is to focus on the residencies that are to be developed by the partner cities in the context of CreArt and that will be proposed to artists starting from December 2012. The four artist-in-residence cities, Kaunas, Linz, Wroclaw and Delft will talk about their specific views, plans and/or experience with artist-in-residence. We see these presentations of the CreArt partners as an opportunity to take the first steps in developing inspiring AIRs for CreArt, get feedback about the (preliminary) plans and possibly get questions about AIRs answered. After the seminar, the partner cities will have the opportunity the sharpen their views on AIRs and to finalize their AIR proposal.

During the seminar, there will be plenty of room for discussions (plenary or one-to-one) with various AIR experts and with artists so we hope this will be inspiring for the CreArt AIRs and bring us to new ideas.. Finally, the editors of the magazine Fucking Good Art (www.fuckinggoodart.nl) will make a report of the day.

The seminar will be open as well to non-CreArt AIRs and to artists. The registration for the seminar is now open. On the attached document you will find the preliminary programme and the free registration form.
